Baked Cinnamon Donuts

Baked Cinnamon DonutsA grain  free version of a Donut (0r Doughnut) ready to enjoy in 15 minutes.

I am feeling a bit strung out at the moment and my emotions are screaming at me to eat sugary cakes, cookies and candy. It’s a battle keeping myself in check with all the temptation around me. I find that  baking calms me, so rather than reaching for the donut from the coffee cart down the road that is heavily laden with nasty oils, sugars, flour, food colorings and preservatives I thought it a much smarter idea to make myself some protein packed oven baked cinnamon donut deliciousness I can pack with me and take to work so I am armed and ready with a much healthier and nutritious alternative.

The added bonus is that these are really quick and really easy to make. They are unreal with a cup of homemade dark hot chocolate and I just scarfed another one down with a warm chai tea. Heaven!


  • 1 1/4 cups almond flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup liquid coconut oil
  • 2.5 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • Cinnamon and sugar crystals for coating


Preheat oven to 350F.

Mix the dry ingredients together, add the wet ingredients and hand whisk together. Transfer batter to a blender. (I use the Nuribullet). Blend into smooth batter. Sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on the bottom of each of the donut tins.  Pour batter into donuts molds then sprinkle a little more cinnamon and sugar over the top of each donut . Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Best served warm… So yummy…
